THE FUTURE WE BUILD PROGRAM
The Future We Build is designed to support adolescent mothers and survivors and Victims of Gender Based Violence – (early forced marriage, Forced marriage, rape, domestic violence, Abuse, etc) to rebuild their confidence, continue their education, and pursue sustainable livelihoods.
Across rural areas of Arusha, especially within the Maasai and Meru communities, girls face deep-rooted social and cultural barriers that threaten their futures. Child marriage, early pregnancy, and gender-based violence often force girls not only to drop out of school but also never having a chance to attend one, leaving them vulnerable, isolated, and stigmatized.
The Future We Build Program restores hope and opportunity. We provide mentorship, psychosocial support, education reintegration, and vocational training for adolescent mothers, creating a bridge between vulnerability and empowerment.

Our approach is girl centered and community driven. We work closely with traditional, the adolescent Mothers, leaders, midwives, parents, and gatekeepers, as well as partner organizations that share our mission, including:
Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF) – our current granter, supporting project implementation.
Builders of Future Africa (BFA) – a strategic partner providing mentorship and innovation guidance.
Little Prospects Foundation – a collaborating partner supporting training and community outreach.
Together, we are helping girls reclaim their dreams, rebuild their dignity, and shape brighter futures for themselves and their children.
Community Dialogues: Breaking the Cycle
Within this program, we host Community Dialogue Sessions, powerful conversations that bring together parents, traditional elders, men, local leaders, and health practitioners to challenge harmful norms and promote equality.
These sessions aim to:
Raise awareness about the long-term consequences of child marriage and early pregnancy.
Strengthen family and community support systems for girls’ education and well-being.
Engage traditional and religious leaders as advocates for change.
Promote shared responsibility between men and women in parenting and community leadership.

Through these dialogues, The Future We Build not only transforms individual lives, it transforms mindsets and cultural systems that have kept girls silent for generations.

OUR IMPACT
Since its inception, The Future We Build has supported over 278 of adolescent mothers and survivors of early marriage in Arusha’s rural districts, including Monduli, Olkokola, Oltinga, lemanyata and Lenjani.
85% of Adolescent Mothers have successfully returned to school or completed vocational programs in tailoring, catering, beading, baking.
55% of young mothers now operate their own small businesses, mentor others, and serve as advocates for girls’ education and women’s rights.
10% Of the Adolescent Mothers’ partners/husbands, father inlaws and traditional leaders understand why it’s important to abstain violence and support girls’ dreams through our male involvement initiatives.
Each success story reflects our belief that when a girl is given another chance, she doesn’t just rebuild her own life, she rebuilds her community.
